gah.. I’ve taken a long holiday from blogging people. Sorry I didn’t announce the hiatus before actually going on it but well, I didn’t know how long it was going to last. I’ve had LOLShares in stock waiting to be posted but I was just kinda lazy.
Anyhoo, I’m back (sort of) and with a huge rant to boot! (Yea or else I wouldn’t have come back so soon lol)
So I don’t know about you guys but I get these really annoying calls from people I don’t want to hear from..
1) Telemarketers
2) Wrong number
3) People looking for my mom (coz my number used to be hers)
These are spread out over my landline and my cell.. It’s becoming really annoying because I’d be sleeping or doing something important (like playing an intense computer game!!) and my phone will ring and sometimes I rush to answer the phone because I think it might be a prospective employer calling about a job!
Sometimes I even hurt myself in trying to get to my phone.. (Ok maybe not that serious seeing as I generally tend to leave my phone unattended somewhere in my house and just let it ring… )
Anyways, the number of such calls have increased in frequency to the point where I’m more or less awoken everyday but a random unwelcome call!
And you know what’s even more annoying? People who call and go, “Hello? Is XXX there?” Then when I tell them NO, and that they’ve got the wrong number, they go, “Where is this place?”
WTF. WHY ON EARH DO YOU CARE? I ALREADY TOLD YOU IT’S THE WRONG NUMBER. Geez!
One of the calls was even weirder.. The person called and asked, “Where is this place?” and I was thinking, if you don’t know why the EFF are you calling? Another time this other person called and said someone called from my home number and he’s returning the call… IMPOSSIBLE. Why? BECAUSE MY HOME PHONE NUMBER IS PRIVATELY LISTED AND WILL NOT SHOW UP EVEN ON A “MISSED CALL” CALLER ID!!!!! Fucktard!!
Man this shit is driving me NUTS. There’s more to rant about but my blood is boiling so violently that I can’t even type properly. Grr. Have you guys got any suggestions? Or similar experiences? Do share!!!
(Note to self (and all you eager readers out there): next post to be about different levels of attraction =))

Wow, relax Cherlynn! I understand your frustration although mine was never has bad as yours. It happened to me every now and then. I absolutely hate telemarketers who go on and on despite saying “I am not interested” multiple, I just press the red button afterwards.
I wanted to suggest changing your numbers but since you are waiting for job calls, it wouldn’t be wise. Maybe you can do it after you got your job?

YES!! I hate those kinds of phone calls as well. They get on my nerves! What’s worse for me is getting texts from, I assume, teenage brats about homeworks and what so-and-so did at lunch that day. It’s freaking annoying! My husband sent them back a really crazy, fucked up text about how he wanted to know where they lived and what they were wearing lol. Yeah, that stopped them!
Dunno what to do about your landline calls. We just stopped the landline altogether and I don’t answer a call with an unfamiliar number anymore. If they’re trying to reach me, they can leave me a message.

What drive me crazy are calls from charities. I get lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of calls from charities. While I understand that it’s for good causes, I really just can’t stand getting a call from a different charity every 2 days.
I think I’m getting these many calls because the previous family who had my landline number had it listed somewhere, though.

heh yea i understand they can get really annoying. In fact, most good things become annoying once they happen too many times and when you did NOT ask for it. heh.
I feel bad because what you said (about previous owner of your landline having listed it somewhere) reminded me that I actually used my dorm’s landline number on several websites for registration of stuff so I think the phone has been ringing off the hook since. And I don’t live in my dorm anymore..
I took the phone off the hook when I was there.. I pity whoever lives there now… ><

Oh dear!! hope you calm down now, man, I know the feeling! And you know what’s worse than those 3?? FRIGGING PRANK CALLS!!! ARGHH!! I scared off this prank caller by playing a scary laughing monster laugh when the person called and HE HUNG UP AND DIDN’T CALL AGAIN! I wanted to even do a RING mode like if you call again, you will bla blah or what. URGH! Man these people!
Sighhs… hope the calls will lessen! You get a lot though! Tc!
Oh and hope you can spread my contest!
hehe I’ve started it by the way :p hehee

Telemarketers used to be a huge problem when I lived at home and answered the landline, but usually I’d just hang up on them :p And I get wrong-number calls and texts occasionally on my cell, but I usually ignore them if I don’t get the chance to pick up and tell them it’s the wrong number. I guess my philosophy when it comes to annoying calls is just ignore ignore ignore, haha.
