but when I’m facing this page, it’s like the words all come to a screeching halt, refusing to flow from my brain, through my fingertips to the keyboard+screen. It’s incredibly frustrating ><

Anyhoo, i couldn’t stand leaving my blog so empty and sad looking, what with that angsty-sounding entry being the most recent entry.. So I thought, hey, let’s blog about something fun!
.
I actually had 3 topic areas to blog about but right now, I can only remember one. However, to make things a bit livelier, here’s my latest vlog update which you’d have seen if you were subscribed to my channel on Youtube, or if you were my friend on FB.
.
Ah yes. A very interesting video as usual!!!!!!
.
Anyhoo. Here’s the thing I wanted to blog about. It’s one of my usual “thought/opinion”-type entries…
.
Opinion.
I recently did a meme on FB that required me to answer about my “Current Relationship Status”. My answer was “-”. I don’t know if you guys have ever wondered why I choose not to display my relationship status on FB, but while it started out as simple ignorance for me, it slowly became an active decision/choice not to display that status.
Uh in case you didn’t know, it’s “single”.
.
Why?
I think a lot of the reason behind my decision has to do with the stigma associated with being single. That said, though, there’s a myriad of reasons behind my decision. While I don’t like being labelled “single”, I don’t see the need to display my relationship status let’s say IF there was a change. Also, it’s such a hassle having to change relationship statuses. Unless you are pretty sure about it, there’s not really adequate reason to change it. I’m pretty sure FB and other social networks came up with this thing just so we could mindfuck ourselves on a whole other level.
.
.
I mean, there are so many stories about people quarreling over FB statuses, girls doing silly things like marrying each other on fb (which is ok if it’s all in the name of fun for awhile but gets old really quick), people changing their relationship statuses every time something happens, people not being on the same page when it comes to relationship statuses etc.
.
.
Statuses like “Married” and “In a relationship” and even “Single” are totally fine by me. It’s statuses like “It’s Complicated” or “In an open relationship” that make me think, “What’s the point?” If it’s complicated, why complicate things further by putting, “It’s Complicated” up? If you truly are “in an open relationship” with someone, why declare that you’re in a relationship with that person? I mean, if it’s an open relationship, there’s no need to stake claim, right?
.
I’m not going to lie and say i’ve never contemplated using those statuses… But every time I think about doing it, the rational, sensible side of me steps in and goes, “WTF who are you kidding? Why waste your time?”
.
The only time I will display a relationship status on my FB profile is if/when I am in a relationship / married (*GASP**) and my partner asks me to (kinda like peeing all over my FB to stake claim, but i don’t really mind that i guess). Otherwise, I don’t see a point to displaying my status. The people who ought to know know and the people who don’t can jolly well assume whatever they want. After all, they can choose from “Single”, “In a RS”, “In an open RS”, “It’s Complicated”, “Engaged”, “Married” or “It’s gay rainbow donkey balls”
.
As an ending note to this section, just a disclaimer on some of the other stuff I do show (because I do tend to overshare sometimes). I decided that there was a NEED for me to display that I’m interested in MEN. Not WOMEN. Because my profile and whatever shenanigans I get up to can lead people to think otherwise. Yup.

Actual personal life bloggage
WELL. I met up with Da Jie and Er Jie (Jen and Shirin respectively) from PRIMARY SCH last night!!! We’ve not seen each other in almost 10 years!!! Massive catching up session. While I was initially apprehensive about meeting up and kinda worried about whether we’d have stuff to talk about, turns out my fears were unfounded. We had a great time chatting and catching up on our lives… 10 years worth of catching up! We’re sooo grown up now though. haha.
.
There’s other stuff I want to blog about but I’m going to just save it for next time. It’s pretty deep stuff actually.
.
Random note: My birthday, apart from being Mischief Night (night before Halloween when everyone dresses up trick-or-treatin’), is also, apparently, Victoria Derby Day. Horses, anyone?
