ABPAD #22 – argh

Posted by chervalier On September - 30 - 2011

Sheesh, I missed 2 days, I think! Oh no.
.
To make up for it, I thought I’d give you guys a really interesting premise in my entry today. Oh and it’s Friday!! So yea, cheer up folks! =)
.
Here’s my premise. I was reading this article and its title, “Terra Nova: You can’t please everyone but you can try” caught my attention. As far as I know, Terra Nova is a one of the many new shows premiering this fall, and is about people living alongside dinosaurs, as they’re trapped in a Jurassic Park-esque island or something.
.
As far as I know, in the pop culture realm (or at least on the interwebz) today, people are divided into several factions – Zombie-lovers, Pirate-lovers, Dinosaur-lovers or Ninja-lovers. They don’t necessarily have to be mutually exclusive groups, but there ARE people who prefer some over others. (PS I excluded Shark-lovers as it would come under “Violent animal” group and that has been labeled the Dinosaur-lover group.. Also, Vampires are kinda just zombies, aren’t they? Dead people who are alive and thirst for blood..? Yea.)
.
With that in mind, I thought about the title of the article and mused. If they were to try to please everyone, they’d make a show about Zombies/Vampires living in a Dinosaur-ridden land, taking on occupations such as Ninjas or Pirates to fight for survival. And I thought, yea, why not? The Vampires would be the intelligent zombies who still have their faculties with them, while the zombies would be one of the enemy-types, along with Velociraptors and Tyrannosaurs. You could feed zombies to the Dinosaurs to give them food poisoning.
.

In short:
Races: Humans, Zombies
Occupations: Ninjas, Pirates (amongst others)
Environment: Dinosaur-land
Threats: Dinosaurs, Zombies, Viruses, Apocalypse

.
What do you think of this premise eh? =)) Dibs on the rights to the book and movie and tv show. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED!!!! =D

Posted by chervalier On September - 27 - 2011

THANK YOU CAITY for being such an awesome person =)
.
I sometimes worry that these ramblings might sound narcissistic, and I’m pretty sure there are some people out there who would vehemently agree that they are, but oh if you only knew how much I’d prefer to leave this alone and not have to blog every day.
.
This commitment business is tough, I tell ya. I have content for full articles, not quick in-a-minute blog entries. Those articles/entries would take days to write and my daily schedule doesn’t allow for that!
.
I’m also rather behind on my design overhaul.. lol. Terrible. Life has been busy, as always, and somewhat indulgent =P It’s the new TV season, c’mon =D
.
I hope Anna’s doing well. <3
I hope jaytee’s doing well <3 <3 <3
I love y’all.

ABPAD #20 – yay for twenty!

Posted by chervalier On September - 26 - 2011

wow I’ve made it to #20! 10 more to go (2 weeks) and I’ll be taking a break from the daily blog posting. In fact, I think that the daily (forced) blogging kinda makes/has made my blog a lot more boring, since it’s become less insightful and a lot more drivelly (not a word).
.
Once I’ve hit #30, I should already be overseas, so I’ll slow down on the blogging.. I hope to blog every alternate day, if not then at least 2 times a week? =) That will make it tougher to keep to though.
.
Have you ever wondered what kind of a friend you are? Just a thought. Think about it, people. Ciao! =)

ABPAD #19 – tv shows hell yeah!

Posted by chervalier On September - 23 - 2011

I’m so happy the tv season is back. I’ve liveblogged a few of them and thought I’d put some snippets up here.
.
First up, my (somewhat incomplete) liveblog of the Emmys:

.
somewhat live-blogging the Emmys

opening was pretty good. I love that she got a standing ovation!! =))

Emmytones not doing it for me. Jane did great so far!

Ahh the Comedy genre is full of such genius!! =)

definitelly Jimmy Fallon is the hotter Jimmy, to me =)

haha yay for MF cleaning up not just the awards, but even just the nominations!

haha that MF writer guy’s wife is amazing! =)

hah charlie sheen. nice.

ohhh yea this is the one where Jim wins!!! #leadactorinacomedyseries

oh God so many good actors in this category!! #leadactorinacomedyseries

oh God Jim you are so beautiful and so beautifully nervous.

OH Sofia Vergara!!!

OMG AMY POEHLER!!!!!!! AMAZING STUNT!! that is all kinds of win!! =DDDD <3

hmm okay i jumped a lot but turns out my version is incomplete. back to liveblogging later! =)

.
.
.
Now, I’m not going to liveblog my tv shows, just gonna put up a summary of my thoughts for each show’s premiere:
.
Glee:
highlights:
anything Wemma-related was actually very interesting and funny
blaine/klaine duh!
tina having more lines
I did not like the Skanks. I’m sorry.
I did not quite like Sugar Motta either. I like the witty writing, but not her.
.
.
Now, Modern Fam. In a word (or three), Awesome As Usual. I loved all the crazy antics. I liked the guy who hit on Alex. I love how Dylan basically is already totally a Dunphy man. He fits in with the likes of Luke and Phil! Gloria’s singing – glorious as always.. I loved the comic timing of all of them. Luke’s lost weight!! Yay for Phil being manly. Yay for Claire being right. Yay for Cam’s really “happy” celebratory dance and banner. lol. I LOL-ed way too much during the 2 eps.
.
.
I’m holding off on Criminal Minds until I finish Seasons 5 and 6 (i’ve watched like, half of each lol). So shush! And I’m looking forward to Fringe. And TBBT!
.
Ahh tv shows. It’s like coming back to an old friend. =) What tv shows do you watch and did you like the premieres? =)

i’ve been pretty excited about the upcoming tv season! not that there’s anything new i’m looking forward to (apart from American Horror Story or whatever the name of Ryan Murphy’s newest show is..).. I’ve heard about Thomas Gibson (love him from Criminal Minds) guesting on the new 2 and a Half Men.. So i’m kinda intrigued..

Looking forward to new seasons from CM, MF, TBBT, Fringe, Glee, etc!! Hehe.

Lately, i’ve been quite crazy about a few songs, one of which being “Dance: Ten Looks: Three” heh. Wonder which of you can tell me why… =P

ABPAD #17 – massagetimes II

Posted by chervalier On September - 21 - 2011

oh when I was at the massage place, I was very seriously considering putting up a protected Rated post on my internal monologue..
.
but now I can’t remember the details, and I thank God for that. This time, my thoughts revolved around my gladness that I’d showered, my OCDness about her touching, say, my back, after she’d kinda rubbed the soles of my feet.
.
And there was too much oil, as always. but the most disconcerting difference this time around has got to be the, uhm, sounds that I sorta involuntarily made.
.
it was nothing like Monica (Friends)!! It was just little contented “Mm”s that were the result of excessive exhaling through closed lips. Something like that.
.
Ok there seems to be no clean way to explain that. Whatever it is, massagetimes was good. Case closed.
.
.
How was your day? =)

ABPAD #15 – time

Posted by chervalier On September - 19 - 2011

don’t have time to really blog properly, so I’ll do a really quick recap of my weekend
.
i managed to meet up with my dearest “sisters” Jennifer and Shirin on Saturday! =) We had a short span of 2 hours to catch up, since everyone’s really busy and all! It was really great to catch up on each other’s lives and relive some crazy memories from when we were 12.. heh.
.
I also spent some quality time with my family over the weekend, which I found to be very therapeutic and healing. In short, I had a really good weekend =) I wish all weekends could be like this!
.
How was your weekend? =) Ciao and see you all tomorrow! =)

so I was just double-checking what it was that people of my blood type were recommended to it (I’d heard about it from my darling friend xyz some time last year) and realized what a load of patooie this was…
.
By “patooie” I mean that the people behind the website (I’m trying not to slam the whole idea/book/franchise.. just the website) are simply banking on the idea that people will probably only check the recommendations for their own blood types and not the other blood types.
.
Being a curious (read: nosy) person, I went to check out what the other blood types were recommended/described as. Based on my blood type, I was described kinda accurately as, “insightful, mystical, idealistic, creative, globally-oriented, people-oriented and good at imagining.”
.
I thought, hey, let’s check out my friends’ descriptions! Here’s what a blood type A person was described as:
“sensitive to the needs of others, good listeners, detail oriented, analytical, creative and inventive. “
.
I paused and pondered for a bit, while in my head the skeptic mode kicked in. These were words that were replaceable and could be used to describe just about anyone. They weren’t polar opposites, and some of them were even synonyms. They were basically telling people things that people wanted to be, like “good listener”, “creative”, “insightful”..
.
I’m not sure if my point is clear here. Type A being a detail-oriented good-listener doesn’t mean that he/she can’t have type B traits like insightful or idealistic as well. In fact, they practically belong in the same set of words!
.
Now that my brain was fully in skeptic mode, I went to peruse the dietary recommendations for each blood type.

Blood type B is recommended the following:

  • Spend at least twenty minutes a day involved in some creative task that requires your complete attention
  • Go to bed no later than 11:00PM and sleep for eight hours or more. It is essential for B’s to maintain their circadian rhythm
  • Use meditation to relax during breaks
  • Engage in a community, neighborhood or other group activity that gives you a meaningful connection to a group. Type Bs are natural born networkers
  • Be spontaneous
  • As they age, Type Bs have a tendency to suffer memory loss and have decreased mental acuity. Stay sharp by doing tasks that require concentration, such as crossword puzzles or learn a new skill or language

While Blood Type As are recommended:

  • Establish a consistent daily schedule
  • Go to bed no later than 11:00 PM and sleep for eight hours or more. Don’t linger in bed, as soon as you get up, get going!
  • Take at least two breaks of twenty minutes each during the work day. Stretch, take a walk, do deep breathing exercises or meditate.
  • Don’t skip meals
  • Eat more protein at the start of the day, less at the end
  • Don’t eat when you are anxious
  • Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
  • Engage in thirty to forty five minutes of calming exercise at least three times a week.
  • Plan regular screening for heart disease and cancer prevention.
  • Always chew food thoroughly to enhance digestion. Low stomach acid makes digestion more difficult.

And you know what? Just put all the “recommendations” together and you’ve got a textbook recommendation for ANYONE to lose weight/lead a healthy life/increase metabolism etc. It’s what dieticians, nutritionists or personal trainers would recommend anyone. It’s standard health advice!

.

Of course, this is all free information given on their website, so perhaps their book has more specific information that is NOT BS.. but based on what’s on their website, I am still skeptical of this blood type diet biznazz.

.

Check out the full descriptions here and here.

.

In other news, well… There is a lot I want to say, but won’t for now. Take care y’all, and ciao! =) Enjoy your weekend!

ok, I really wanted to skive off today.. it’s been a really bad day for me. but heck. I’m going to blog even if it’s only 2 lines or so. Thanks Caity for introducing me to Goodreads, btw =)) I’ve enjoyed the site so far! =)
.
Been having a headache the whole day, but the Nurofen I took has started to work, so yay me.
.
I am really looking forward to the end of this long, tiring, tiresome and problematic week.
.
Anyone else having a bad week? Yea.. Aren’t we all. Take care guys. It’ll be the weekend soon enough =) Although it kinda sucks that we only get about 2 days to rest each week -__-”
.
A’ight i’ll be back tomorrow =)
