ABPAD #29 – confusing boobage

Basically, I watched the movie “Some Like It Hot” the other day, and, starting from the scene where Marilyn Monroe sings “I Wanna Be Loved By You” , she wears a really odd dress that’s backless and clingy and glittery (and i’m guessing gold in color but the movie was in black and white). The backlessness of the dress requires that she not wear a bra, and in this dress, she spends a part of the movie running around to docks and ships and stuff, tits a-bouncing every which way.

And it was, overall, a really odd and distracting experience for me. Part of me was going, “Wow, it’s Marilyn Monroe! She’s sooooooooo sexy!!” and another part of me was like, “Uhm.. yea..” *looks down at chest* “Yea… No bra… what??” I think my biggest issue with it was how naked she looked lol. And that despite that she ran around without regard, as if she were in a nudist film or something. Not that I have anything against it, or that it was BAD.. It was just unsettling to me.. lol.

I will not deny, though, Marilyn Monroe is still one of the sexiest women to ever have been on screen; I especially loved the way she interpreted “I Wanna Be Loved By You” – the breathy and babytalk way she did it was so awesome!

ABPAD #28 – egads!

yep. I’ve suffered the Wrath of Anna. I have fallen so behind that my behind is in front of my face. Or something.
.
I had an altogether wonderful, albeit busy (as usual), weekend! Friday night I met Ann for a great dinner and chat, Saturday I met some new friends and some of my oldest friends took me to the Marina Barrage for a fantastic moonlit picnic! =) It was awesome!
.
Sunday was spent cleaning my house – it’s a long story. Then I met Val for dinner and drinks at Holland Village. All in all, a busy but productive (ish) weekend =)
.
I swear I will make up for this shortfall in blog entries! I will now proceed to discuss the sex appeal of Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot, which I recently watched! but for this post, I’m pretty much done, so toodles, you guys! I’m so sorry =( It’s tough, having a life. Haha OK I KID. Take care, everyone! <3

ABPAD #27 – dearie me

oh dear Lord how I’ve fallen behind! I almost forgot about today’s entry as well, and am only saved by a last minute metal reminder!

Gah. I’ve had a coupla crazy days, and have a crazy 2 weeks ahead! My schedule is packed to the brim, people. The worst thing is I have to meet some people (that “have” was more like a *HAVE*) but have utterly no time to meet them. I ended up scheduling my Friday night like so:

- Finish my thingum at 2100
- Meeting a friend at 2100
- Meeting another friend at 0000
.

Saturday has been similarly allocated too. Shit.
.
So you will pardon me for lapsing on blogging once in awhile? =) Pretty please? Heh. Afterall, I *am* only 3 entries away from meeting my target! =)) YAY!! Let’s hang in there, guys!

Question for you today: Has anyone watched American Horror Story? Thoughts/opinions/feelings? =))

ABPAD #26 – quickie!

ahh i had a really great idea about a topic and then I forgot and now there’s only a half hour left to the end of the day and I need to go rush off to shower!! bleah =(

I will make special days for special topics, like Wednesdays will be Dream days, where the topic will be about something related to Dreams. Fridays will be slack off day, where I allow myself to slack off and blog about something unimportant =P
.
Thursdays will be appreciation day – I show appreciation for a certain person/thing/etc in my life on that day’s post. Mondays and Tuesdays, being days right after the weekend, will be reserved as Recap days.. =P
.
How’s that sound? Alright, gotta go. Ciao you guys! =)

ABPAD #25 – happy days

Well hello there. As promised, I’ll be continuing my recap of my wonderful day from the previous post =)
.
After wanyi appeared looking lost, and after I had “overcome my shock”, I asked wanyi what she was there for, and she said she was there for a friend’s engagement/proposal party in one of the hotel rooms! So I acted really curious and asked if we could go up with her.
.
Jaytee said she’d rather wait downstairs for YW, but I asked her to come up with me as I didn’t want to be the only uninvited guest there. Being the good friend she is, she obliged. We got up to the room, and Wanyi opened the door and walked in, saying, “Hey, I brought some friends, hope it’s ok..” and I inched in saying something to the extent of, “Uhm hi, sorry wanted to take a look..” and pulled Jaytee in with me.
.
After a beat, everyone jumped out of their hiding places (mostly behind curtains and inside closets) popping crackers and saying SURPRISE! (Yea, that’s right, “saying”, not “yelling” lol) Then we burst into the Happy Birthday song for her and proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon taking crazy pictures (like some of those you saw in the previous post)..
.
The day wasn’t over yet, but I had no clue what was planned. I’d only thought that we were going to hang out and chill out, playing games or just chatting.. Then, Rachel asked me if I wanted to go to church with her and Vivien. Since I’d not been to St Bernadette before, and this presented me a much more convenient option to go to church, I said yes.
.
Church was really great, the church of St Bernadette was really nice, and their choir and lectors were really great too. We headed back to the hotel to meet up with the rest before going for dinner together.. As we were heading back, Vivi texted the rest to inform them that we were returning (which I thought was very normal), then we hung out in the lobby for awhile coz vivi needed the toilet (which might have been a stalling tactic, I don’t know, lol). When we went up, rachel passed me the keycard and told me to open the door first, as I was walking a bit faster and ahead of them.
.
I opened the door and could see that it was dark inside, and everyone seemed to be missing/hiding, so I just laughed and accused them of being idiots for trying to pull a trick on us, then I walked back out of the room. Rach and Vivi were like, “Why? What happened?” and I was all, “They’re trying to trick us, the losers!” Then they got me to open the door again and go into the room, and I did, and then I saw a 2nd cake and i was all o.0… It took about 5 seconds for it to dawn on me that hey, it was my turn! haha.
.
So yea, we had a good time, jaytee presented me my gift (she knew about surprising me but did not know it would be that day until after we surprised her and the others told her)
.
All in all, a rather successful day of 2 surprises! We headed off for a scrumptious dinner at Irodori, across from our hotel, and had a wonderful evening too =) I’ll let the pictures do the talking now =)

ABPAD #24 – we have today

i promised a nice recap entry about my wonderful weekend and here it is! Hopefully a brief recap, though. =P

Here’s basically what happened – we’d planned to surprise my dear friend Jaytee at a hotel where she was attending a wedding. A room in that hotel had been booked as the site of FUN for that day. Wanyi and I turned up to find mastermind YW in the hotel with her brother (Gege) blowing balloons, so we helped out.
.
When it was time to get Jaytee – more like stall her, actually – I was sent down to distract her. I came up with a story on the fly, after having gone to the ballroom and seeing that there were several weddings/solemnizations that day. While looking for Ms Jaytee, I briefly caught sight of one of the notices they had put up for the events. Couldn’t find her there, so i headed off to look for her at the pick-up point. I spotted her there with a mutual friend (turns out I knew a few of the people who’d attended the wedding with Jaytee) and approached them. Jaytee was SHOCKED. Of course, she said, “So qiao!”, which was our catchphrase for whenever something coincidental happened (loooooooong backstory to this).
.
She asked me what I was doing there, and I was all, “Oh i’m here for my friend’s wedding solemnization! What are you doing here?” She told me about the wedding I already knew about and I acted duly surprised. She probed me for some details about the solemnization I “attended” and I just gave the name of the bride and said she was a friend from my Uni. I also lied and said I was waiting for my parents to pick me up from the pick-up point, which was where I saw her. -__-”
.
After letting the rest know that I was with her (via Whatsapp), I was rather worried that the others (who were running late and weren’t there yet) might run into her if we continued to stand there, so after our mutual friend left, I griped about my parents saying they’d be late and told Jaytee that we should go back to the ballroom.
.
When we got up to the ballroom, she started talking about the solemnization that I had “attended”, mentioning that we were rather noisy in our celebrations.. I said, “Yea, they’re the ah beng (rowdy) group of friends la.” She nodded along with me, and as we passed the ballroom of the wedding i’d “attended” (the guests were all milling about since the meal was over), I mentioned to her that I’d seen some people I don’t really like, so told her that we should avoid eye contact and walk quickly.
.
We hung out at the ballroom for awhile, chatting (she kept talking about how amazingly coincidental it was and I kept agreeing with her) while I frantically checked with the others via Whatsapp to see if they were ready. Funny story here about how she told YW, who was supposed to meet her at the pick-up point, that she had run into me, and how it was “so cool!”. YW played along, asking what I was doing there etc. Gullible Jaytee said I was there for another wedding. It was quite awesome lol.
.
Finally, the others were ready and I could take her up! After bringing her to the toilets to stall for more time, walking past “my friend’s wedding” again (this time saying that everyone I knew had left already), we went to wait for a lift. Problem was, I didn’t have a keycard that would take me up to the hotel room, so I frantically texted them to bring a keycard down too. Trouble was, I’d already told her, “Let’s go”, and she’d assumed we were going downstairs to wait for my parents, so I had to keep pretending not to see all the lifts that were going down.
.
Then, a lift going down opened and she spotted it and walked towards it… I hung back, trying to stall, until I was saved… The wedding party of the wedding Jaytee had just attended turned up at the lift lobby, and because I also knew the couple in question, I stalled and made small talk! I also got the opportunity to congratulate the bride – whom I’m really truly happy for =)
.
Thankfully, not long after the bridal party had left, Wanyi’s lift (i had whatsapped her to ask which lift she was taking, since there were about 10 lifts at the lobby) arrived, and she walked out. I acted really shocked to see her, and Jaytee frowned so much that her face almost collapsed upon itself.

.
Anyhow, for fear of being too long-winded, I’m going to stop now and let’s just say that we had a really successful surprise for Jaytee. We also had a really successful early birthday surprise for me too, later that day, but that’s another story for another day, which I’ll probably continue tomorrow. For now, let’s let the pictures do the talking!! =))

ABPAD #23 – rushed!

ABPAD #22 – argh

Sheesh, I missed 2 days, I think! Oh no.

To make up for it, I thought I’d give you guys a really interesting premise in my entry today. Oh and it’s Friday!! So yea, cheer up folks! =)
.
Here’s my premise. I was reading this article and its title, “Terra Nova: You can’t please everyone but you can try” caught my attention. As far as I know, Terra Nova is a one of the many new shows premiering this fall, and is about people living alongside dinosaurs, as they’re trapped in a Jurassic Park-esque island or something.
.
As far as I know, in the pop culture realm (or at least on the interwebz) today, people are divided into several factions – Zombie-lovers, Pirate-lovers, Dinosaur-lovers or Ninja-lovers. They don’t necessarily have to be mutually exclusive groups, but there ARE people who prefer some over others. (PS I excluded Shark-lovers as it would come under “Violent animal” group and that has been labeled the Dinosaur-lover group.. Also, Vampires are kinda just zombies, aren’t they? Dead people who are alive and thirst for blood..? Yea.)
.
With that in mind, I thought about the title of the article and mused. If they were to try to please everyone, they’d make a show about Zombies/Vampires living in a Dinosaur-ridden land, taking on occupations such as Ninjas or Pirates to fight for survival. And I thought, yea, why not? The Vampires would be the intelligent zombies who still have their faculties with them, while the zombies would be one of the enemy-types, along with Velociraptors and Tyrannosaurs. You could feed zombies to the Dinosaurs to give them food poisoning.

Races: Humans, Zombies
Occupations: Ninjas, Pirates (amongst others)
Environment: Dinosaur-land
Threats: Dinosaurs, Zombies, Viruses, Apocalypse

ABPAD #21 – caity

I sometimes worry that these ramblings might sound narcissistic, and I’m pretty sure there are some people out there who would vehemently agree that they are, but oh if you only knew how much I’d prefer to leave this alone and not have to blog every day.

This commitment business is tough, I tell ya. I have content for full articles, not quick in-a-minute blog entries. Those articles/entries would take days to write and my daily schedule doesn’t allow for that!
.
I’m also rather behind on my design overhaul.. lol. Terrible. Life has been busy, as always, and somewhat indulgent =P It’s the new TV season, c’mon =D
.
